More Band Names
I kind of like the band name '1776'.
I like it because it's the year that the greatest new nation in the world declared it's non-negotiable stance to be independent and free from all tyranny, and to pursue those things that are God given rights, or states even, and gave themselves wholly in regards to the pursuit, of unadultered freedom. I like that year over 1781, when the Americans actually won at Yorktown, because it's when the revoloutionaries united under one cause of real freedom, and declared it blatently in the face of a tyrranist. Of course taking your rights and freedoms from a tyrranist that thought those were his required a war, a long difficult process, but I like that year for the emphasis on the 'no more, it stops now, and we'll do everything we will have to to exact and secure our God given right to genuine freedom' attitude.
Any thoughts?

So, I assume this to be a politically focused band?
Pretty interesting name, though.

To be honest, if it all worked out that way, yeah, it would be. Specifically, it would be about denouncing tyrrany and corrupt governments around the world, and would be a kind of watch dog that serves the people in general, and pointing out those governments' effects on the lives of the people they're supposed to serve. It would bring the reality of various social issues into light, and even stuff in the church that often keeps people from wanting to partake in Christianity, basically saying that these certain behaviors are hypocritical and hurtful, and do not reflect who God really is and what He's about. And then just about real life stuff that we all as humans deal with, emotionally, socially, and spiritually, and in all these things, always promoting the idea, the pursuit, of genuine freedom. But not being at all cheesy or churchy about any of it. Just very very real. And more balanced, but easily every bit as passionate as RATM.

I just can't help think about how our time here is very limited, so if you're given the oppurtunity to have your voice and influence heard and seen by many people, use for something truly worthwhile, and don't fall into the same 'ol same 'ol because you'll be accepted, and because it's comfortable, no conflict to deal with. Make yourself useful, and make a difference for the better of everyone. The cost is well worth it, because all this is so temporary. When you're gone, you're gone, and it's all over. So live it up in regards to what you believe.
My two cents, anyways.

that's kewl, i guess strong politically influenced bands just never really attracted me...kinda why I didn't like early punk, or much RATM, or Bob Marley for that matter, unless the music part was really good. Although I did really like ...And Justice For All, but I don't think it was the lyrics that drew me in on that one.
Now, I don't mind if a band does a few political songs (ie: A7X), but a whole album prolly won't get me. I know you're not talking about doing every single song the same; I'm just spittin' out words.

I gotcha. I think, unless there was something huge going on in the world (like WW3, or some nuclear something happened), I highly doubt every song would be the same as far as song writing wise. Frankly I don't think I would like that either. But that said, they would be meaningful, and make a good point. About whatever.
